Hot-water extraction lifting a stain from a cream car seat

Stains, by what made them

Can car detailing remove stains? Most, depending on the cause

Coffee, milk and mud come out of fabric. Dye transfer and burns are the ones to ask about. Deep clean from AED 549.

Can car detailing remove stains?

Yes, detailing can remove stains in most cases. Food, drink, mud, sweat rings and general soiling on fabric seats, carpets and the headliner come out with hot-water extraction, and leather stains lift with a cleaner and soft brush. What detailing cannot do is reverse damage to the material itself: dye that has bled into fabric, cigarette burns and sun-bleached patches stay. The interior deep cleaning starts at AED 549, and it is part of the AED 999 Full Detail.

Whether we can remove stains depends on what it is and how long it has sat, far more than on the word detailing. A spilled latte on the day it happens and the same latte after three Dubai summers in a parked car are different jobs. Below, the stains we see most, sorted by whether they lift.

Which stains come out of fabric seats and carpets?

Water-based stains lift best: coffee, juice, milk, soft drinks, mud, and the grey tide line that forms where a wet patch dried. A hot-water extractor pushes cleaner into the weave and pulls it straight back out with the dirt, so the stain leaves the seat rather than spreading into the foam.

Old milk and baby formula are the exception to the easy list. They are protein stains, and the sour smell outlasts the mark. We treat the fibre first and finish with an ozone treatment at AED 149 when the smell is still there afterwards.

Pet accidents and car-sickness fall here too. The fibre is cleaned, then rinsed until the extractor runs clear, because anything left in the foam is what brings the smell back on the first hot afternoon. Seats that smell of dog usually also carry hair, which our pet hair removal add-on at AED 99 clears before the wash.

What about stains on leather?

Surface marks come off: dashboard dust, sunscreen, food grease and the dark film that builds on a driver's seat bolster. Our leather cleaning is AED 199 and ends with a conditioner so the leather does not dry out after the clean.

Denim dye on light leather is the awkward one. Fresh transfer often lifts in a few passes. Dye that has been baking into cream leather for a year may only fade, and we say so from your photos before anyone books.

Which stains will not come out?

The ones that are damage, not dirt. A cigarette burn is a hole in the fabric. A bleached patch from years of direct sun has lost its colour, so there is nothing left to clean back to. Ink that has soaked through to the foam, and bleach spills, fall in the same group.

StainWhat to expect
Coffee, juice, soft drinksUsually gone in one extraction
Mud, sand, general soilingGone; carpets look a shade lighter
Milk, formula, vomitMark lifts; smell may need ozone
Grease on leatherLifts with leather cleaner
Denim dye on light leatherFresh: lifts. Old: fades
Cigarette burns, sun bleachingStay; we say so before booking

If your stain sits in the last row, the visit still helps. The rest of the seat comes up clean, so the burn or bleached patch is the only thing left to see, and you can decide on a patch or a re-trim with the facts in front of you instead of guessing.

Does detailing remove stains from the paint?

Outside, the stains are different: bird droppings, water spots from sprinklers and the chalky ring left by evaporated rain. Fresh ones wash off. Spots that have etched into the clear coat need the machine polish to level them, which is the same stage described on our polishing page, from AED 799.

A plain wash will not do this. If you are choosing between the two, detailing versus washing shows what each one leaves behind.

Keeping new stains from setting

Blot, never rub, and do it the same day. Heat sets a stain in a parked car quickly. For a household with children, a stain-repellent coat on the fabric makes the next spill sit on top instead of soaking in; ours is fabric seat protection at AED 129, applied after the clean.

Before you book

Stain questions, answered

Can you remove old stains from car seats?

Often, yes. Water-based stains lift even after months. Dye, burns and sun bleaching do not, and we tell you which camp yours is in from a photo.

Does a deep clean include stain removal?

Yes. The Deep Cleaning service from AED 549 extracts seats, carpets, headliner and plastics, which is where stain removal happens.

Will the stain come back after cleaning?

Not from the same spot, as long as the stain is gone from the foam. Sometimes a faint ring returns as damp fabric dries, and we check for it before we leave.

How long until the seats are dry?

Dry to the touch within a few hours in Dubai heat with the windows open. We extract hard so the fabric holds little water.

Is a stain on the roof lining removable?

Light marks, yes, with a gentle extraction. The headliner is glued, so we use little water there. Ask us with a photo first.

Send the stain in daylight

One close photo and one of the whole seat. The reply says whether it lifts and which service fits.
