Correction plus coating
Ceramic coating starts at AED 1,999 with the paint correction prep inside it. The question is how much correction your car needs, not whether to pay twice.
Is a paint correction and ceramic coating worth it?
Yes, for a car you plan to keep and whose paint shows swirl marks in direct sun. A paint correction and ceramic coating worth it test comes down to one fact: a coating seals whatever surface is under it, so sealing damaged paint keeps the damage on show. Our ceramic coating starts at AED 1,999 and the correction prep is part of that job, so you are buying one sequence, not two services. Skip it if the car is leaving you soon or the paint is already clean and glossy.
Most owners ask this as if correction and coating were rival upgrades. They are two steps of one job. The correction decides how the car looks on day one, and the coating decides how long it stays that way between washes.
A coating is a thin hard layer that bonds to the paint. It does not fill scratches and it does not level them. Whatever swirls sit under it get locked in and, because the surface is now glossy and water-shedding, they tend to look sharper rather than softer.
That is why the machine work comes first. The paint is inspected, polished to the level it needs, wiped clean of residue, and only then coated. Done in that order, the coating protects a surface worth protecting. Done in reverse, it protects the problem.
The coating package starts at AED 1,999 and covers the paint correction prep with a 2-year or 5-year coating. A standalone car polishing job starts at AED 799. The two are not added together on the coating: the prep belongs to the coating package.
So the useful comparison is not 799 plus 1,999. It is the coating price against the cost of leaving the car as it is. If you were going to coat the car anyway, the correction costs you no separate booking. If you only want the swirls gone and no protection, the polish alone is the smaller spend.
Wash the car, park it in direct sun and look along the bonnet and roof from a low angle. Fine circular lines that flash like a web are swirl marks. Dark colours show them from across the street; white and silver hide them until the light is right.
If you find a few lines near the door handles, the paint needs light work. If several panels glitter with them, correction will change the car more than the coating does. Send two sunlit photos on WhatsApp and we say which case you are before anyone books.
The keeper gains most: someone who drives the same car for years and sees the paint every morning. A new-car owner gains too, though for a different reason. Fresh paint from a showroom often carries light marks from transport and dealer washing, and sealing it clean is the cheapest moment to do it.
Owners who park in the open also gain. Sun and dust wear a bare finish quickly here, and a coating makes each wash easier. Our guide to coating longevity covers what to expect in Dubai conditions.
Selling within a few months is the clearest case. A buyer sees a clean car and rarely pays for the gap between a wash and a corrected, coated finish. A lease return is similar, since the paint is not yours to keep.
Deep scratches are the other limit. If a fingernail catches in the line, polishing softens it but cannot remove it, and a coating over it still shows it. In that case the honest answer is a smaller job, and we will say so after the inspection.
Not every car needs the deepest cut. Light swirls need less work than paint that has seen years of brush washes, and removing more clear coat than needed is a cost with nothing to show for it. Our explainer on single-stage versus multi-stage work shows how the levels differ.
We judge the level on your paint at the inspection, not from a photo alone. The aim is the clearest surface the paint can safely give, then the coating on top.
Hand wash with a clean mitt, dry with a soft towel, and keep the car out of brush tunnels, which are the usual source of new swirls. Our Premium Wash from AED 249 is a hand wash at your door, which fits a coated car well.
Strong degreasers strip protection, so avoid petrol-station wash bays. A coated car stays easy to clean, but it still needs washing.
Book it if swirls show on several panels in sun, you are keeping the car, and you want the result to last between washes. Choose polishing alone if protection is not a priority. Skip both if the paint is clean or the car is going soon. The reply on WhatsApp will tell you which of the three fits.
Before you book
The paint correction prep is part of the ceramic coating package, which starts at AED 1,999. Tell us on WhatsApp if your paint needs more than the usual prep and we will advise before booking.
You can, but the coating then seals the swirls in. We do the prep first so the finish under the coating is worth keeping. See our polishing page for what that work involves.
If the paint is dull but sound, correction and coating together give the biggest change. If you are selling soon, the polish alone from AED 799 is the smaller spend.
No. A coating protects paint, it does not repair it. Fresh swirls from brush washes would still need correcting. Compare the two in coating versus polishing.
Send the bonnet and roof in direct sun. The reply says whether correction plus coating, polishing alone or neither fits.
