Polish, decided
From AED 799, or already inside the AED 999 Full Detail. A sun test and a short list decide whether your car needs it.
Is car polishing worth it?
Car polishing is worth it once, when the paint has swirl marks you can see in direct sun and you plan to keep the car. Polishing is a correction, not upkeep: it levels the surface so the gloss comes back, from AED 799 with us. If the paint already looks clean in sunlight, or the car is leaving your hands soon, it is money better kept. Our car polishing page covers the method; this page covers the decision.
Whether polishing is worth it comes down to one thing: is the damage visible and are you staying. The useful way to think about it is as a one-off job with a finish line. You book it, the visible damage is gone, and the next spend is protection to keep it that way. Treating it as a regular treatment is where owners overpay.
Park the car in direct sun, wash it, and look at the bonnet and roof from a low angle. Fine circular scratches that light up like a spider web are swirl marks, and they are the thing a polish removes. If you see them across several panels, the polish will change how the car looks from ten metres. If you only find a few lines near the door handles, a polish is overkill and a spot repair is the smarter ask.
Dark colours make this test brutal and honest. A black or navy car shows swirls that a white car hides, so the same damage is worth fixing sooner on dark paint.
Often, yes. Our Full Detail starts at AED 999 and includes a machine polish alongside the interior deep clean and a protective sealant. So if the inside needs work too, the polish costs you little extra. Booking polishing alone at AED 799 makes sense when the cabin is fine and the paint is the only problem.
That is the cleanest way to decide between the two: list what is wrong with the car, outside and in, and pick the service that covers the list without paying twice for the same hours.
Three situations stand out. The first is the keeper, who will drive the car for years and sees the dull paint every day. The second is the owner about to coat the car: paint should be corrected before a coating goes on, because the coating locks in whatever is underneath. The third is the owner with a recent wash-brush or poor-wash history, where the damage is fresh and clearly visible.
If you are heading to ceramic protection next, treat the polish as step one of that job, not a separate luxury. Our ceramic coating starts at AED 1,999 and is applied after paint correction for exactly this reason.
Selling within a few months is the usual one: a buyer notices a clean car, rarely the difference between a wash and a correction. Another is a car with deep scratches that catch a fingernail. A polish softens those but cannot remove them, and you will pay for a result you did not get. Paint that is already glossy and clean in the sun is the last case, because there is nothing left to level.
A fresh polish also does not stop new swirls. Cheap automatic brush washes put them back, which is why the care after matters as much as the job.
Light swirls need less work than a car with years of neglect. Single-stage and multi-stage work are explained in plain words in single-stage versus multi-stage, and we judge it on your paint at the inspection rather than by guessing from a photo. The from-price covers the work your paint needs to reach a clean gloss finish.
No, and this is a common mix-up. Wax adds a thin layer on top; it hides fine marks for a while but removes nothing. If you want the marks gone, you need a polish, and if you only want shine between corrections, wax is the lighter choice. The full comparison sits in waxing versus polishing.
Dubai adds its own twist. Fine dust settles on the paint every day, and wiping it off dry with a cloth is how most swirls start. A car that is washed properly and wiped with care can stay clear for a long time, while one that is dusted off by hand every morning scratches itself. Ask yourself how the car is looked after before asking what the polish costs; the answer shapes how long the result will hold.
Parking matters too. A car under cover in a basement keeps its finish longer than one that spends its days in direct sun, because heat and dust together dull the surface faster. None of this changes the sun test, but it explains why two cars of the same age can need very different amounts of work.
Ask what is being corrected, how the paint is checked first, and what the price covers. A quote that says only polish tells you nothing. A useful one names the panels, says whether the work is one stage or more, and gives a fixed figure before anyone arrives. Our from-price of AED 799 is for the polishing service itself, and the visit starts with an inspection of your paint so the quote matches the car.
Also ask about the finish afterwards. A good job ends with the paint cleaned of polishing residue and a plain explanation of how to wash it. If a provider cannot tell you that, the polish is the least of the worries.
Book it if the sun test shows swirls on several panels, you are keeping the car, and the cabin is already in good shape. Book the Full Detail instead if the inside needs work too. Skip it if the paint looks clean in the sun or you are selling soon. Send two photos taken in direct sunlight on WhatsApp and the reply tells you which of those three you are.
Wash by hand with a clean mitt, dry with a soft towel, and keep the car out of brush washes. Our Premium Wash from AED 249 is a hand wash at your door, which is the safest way to keep a corrected finish looking corrected.
Before you book
Done by machine on healthy paint, it levels a very fine layer and leaves plenty behind. We inspect first, and tell you if a panel is too thin or resprayed to take it.
Only if the car meets the same cause again, mostly brush washes and dry wiping. Hand washing keeps the finish clean.
The Full Detail includes a machine polish within its from AED 999 price. For a deeper correction, tell us on WhatsApp and we will advise on the right service.
Yes. The coating seals the paint as it is, so correct the paint first. See our ceramic coating page for the sequence.
Send the bonnet and roof in direct sunlight. The reply says whether polishing, the Full Detail or neither fits.
