The wash question

The price of a wash depends on what touches the paint

Machine brushes are cheap for a reason. A proper hand wash at your door starts at AED 249, and this page explains the gap honestly.

How much is a car wash in Dubai?

It depends on what touches the paint. A petrol-station machine is the cheapest car wash in Dubai, a car-park wash crew sits somewhere in the middle, and a professional doorstep hand wash from Apex Core starts at AED 249. The machine is cheap because spinning brushes are fast. The doorstep wash costs more because two buckets, pH-neutral foam and fresh microfibre take real time, and because the van, the water and the power all come to your parking spot instead of you driving to theirs.

Only one number appears in that table because only one of those prices is ours to quote. The column worth studying is the middle one. Every wash format is really a decision about what gets dragged across your clear coat, and the price differences follow from that decision. Our full menu, from the wash up to deep cleans, sits on the wash prices page.

Why is the machine wash cheaper?

Volume. A tunnel machine runs the same cycle on every car that enters it, from a dusty pickup to a week-old coupe, and it never slows down for either. There is almost no labour in the price, the detergents are strong enough to compensate for the speed, and nobody inspects your paint before or after. None of that is a scandal. It is simply a product built to move cars through, and the machine cannot tell the difference between dirt it should soften first and dirt it is about to grind in.

How do brushes put swirls into paint?

Dubai dust is largely fine quartz, and quartz is harder than clear coat. A rotating brush picks that grit up from the car in front of you and presses it into the panels of yours at speed. Each pass leaves scratches too fine to see head-on, and after months of washes they show up as the circular haze that catches low evening sun. Removing that haze is machine polishing work, which starts at AED 799 with us. A year of the cheap option can quietly cost more than a year of the proper one.

What a proper hand wash includes

  • A pre-rinse that floats loose dust off before anything makes contact
  • Snow foam that softens and lifts the bonded grime
  • A two-bucket contact wash with pH-neutral shampoo, one bucket to wash, one to rinse the mitt
  • Wheels and tyres cleaned with their own tools, never the paint mitt
  • Microfibre drying, panel by panel
  • Interior vacuum and a wipe-down of the surfaces you touch

The products are Koch Chemie, the German professional line, and no brush ever meets the paint. That sequence is the entire difference between washing a car and slowly sanding one.

The doorstep part of the price

Yes. The van carries its own water, its own power and LED lighting, so the wash happens beside your villa gate or in your tower's parking level while you get on with your day. Wastewater is contained rather than left running toward the drain, which is the detail building managers ask about before they ask anything else. What that means in practice is time gained: no Saturday queues, no drive across town, no lost hours to the wash errand. And it means precision: the same technician who knows your car every week, the same routine, the same products, so the finish improves gradually over months as the paint settles into a sustained rhythm of care. How that works at apartments, offices and villas is covered on the wash at home page.

Is the AED 249 car wash in Dubai worth it?

For most cars that someone cares about, yes, and the reasoning is not romantic. Paint that never meets a brush stays free of swirl haze, which means it never needs correction work to look right, and a car that looks right holds its value at resale time. Add the hours you do not spend queueing at a petrol station on a Saturday, and the gap between cheap and proper narrows to less than it first appears. You are buying method and time, and both show up in the finish.

When is the machine wash good enough?

Honestly: sometimes. A rental you return on Thursday does not need its clear coat protected. A truck that lives between desert trips will collect new scratches faster than any wash causes them. And a car already booked for a respray has nothing left to preserve. If none of those describe your car, the calculation changes, because swirl damage is cumulative and only ever moves in one direction until a polisher reverses it.

What does a year of washing cost: machine versus hand washes?

A year of weekly machine washes costs less upfront but more behind the scenes. Petrol-station washes run about AED 35–50 per visit, so a year of weekly washes is AED 1,820–2,600. But a year of that volume also creates accumulated swirl haze that shows up around month six, and by month twelve the paint carries a dull, directional haze that kills the shine under low sun. Removing that with machine polishing costs AED 799 with us, or more elsewhere. The real yearly cost is AED 2,619–3,399 once you add the correction work that the brush marks made necessary. A year of weekly hand washes at Apex Core (52 washes × AED 249) is AED 12,948, but the paint never carries swirl haze, never needs correction, and the car's resale value holds better because the finish is unmarred. The cheap option looks cheaper on the invoice; the hand-wash option costs less in the total picture because it never creates damage that correction work must fix.

When the car needs more than a wash

A wash removes what sits on the surface. It cannot pull sand out of carpets, lift stains from seats or take oxidation out of paint, and no honest washer will pretend otherwise. Interior deep cleaning starts at AED 549 and a full inside-and-out reset at AED 999; the detailing costs page breaks down which job fits which car. And if you are still comparing providers, the near me guide covers how to vet any mobile operator, including us.

Wash questions

What people ask before the first wash

How long does a doorstep wash take?

About an hour for the express wash on a standard car. Bigger cars and heavier dirt stretch that slightly, and we tell you the realistic window when you book.

Do you need anything from my building?

Just the space the car is parked in, plus about a metre around it. Water, power and lighting all come in the van, and wastewater leaves with us too.

Is the interior included at AED 249?

A vacuum and surface wipe-down, yes. Extracting seats, carpets and vents is a different job: that is the Deep Cleaning from AED 549.

Can I get a wash today?

Often, yes. We run seven days a week from 9am to 10pm, and same-day depends on where the van already is. Send your pin on WhatsApp and you get a real answer, not a promise.

Why does pH-neutral shampoo matter?

Strong alkaline detergents strip waxes, sealants and coatings along with the dirt. A pH-neutral wash cleans without eating whatever protection the paint carries, so it is the only kind we use.

Do I pay before or after the wash?

After. You inspect the car, then pay by card link or cash. There is no deposit, and the price agreed on WhatsApp is the price, with nothing added at the door.

Will I need paint correction if I use cheap washes?

If you use machine washes weekly, yes. Swirl haze starts to show around six months and requires polishing (AED 799+) to remove. Hand washes never create that damage, so polishing becomes optional maintenance once or twice a year instead of a necessary correction.

Does the washing method affect my car's resale value?

It holds better over time with hand-wash care. A paint surface protected from swirl haze shows fewer signs of age and holds its shine, which directly affects resale value. When you sell, the buyer can see the difference on the bonnet under low sun.
